If you can’t find a device driver that was specifically designed for
Windows XP, try installing the driver for Windows 2000. At the device driver
level, the two versions of Windows are very similar, so Windows 2000 drivers
will often work just fine with Windows XP.
As a last resort, try the Driver Forum at http://www.totallydrivers.com/forum,
the forum at http:// www.driverforum.com , or the user forums at the device manufacturer’s
website. Search the forums for the specific make and model of the
device you’re trying to install; if somebody else has asked about the same
device, there’s probably a reply with a pointer to an obscure source for the
driver file. If you can’t find anything about your device, try posting your own
request.
